Coincidentally I took these photos earlier this week at a friend's bookshop (that has a lot of pulp scifi):

#PhotoOfTheDay is Ubehebe Crater, Death Valley National Park. It's half a mile deep and resulted when volcanic magma reached the groundwater, flashed it into steam, and BOOM! in c/photography@fedia.io

it makes me feel better to hear that, being in a similar place. Last night I counted the years it has been since I’ve been on any sort of multi day trip for fun and I sobbed a little
