A community featuring uplifting and wholesome news stories that overlook deeply ingrained systemic problems.
The rules:
1. Your post must be an unironic presentation of a wholesome story, but one that overlooks systemic failures that made the story possible in the first place. In other words, we want posts that highlight "Yay, the problem is solved!", but ignore "Wait, why was this a problem in the first place?" at the same time.
2. Re-posts will be removed at mod discretion.
3. Sitewide rules apply. Basically, (a) don't be a dick; (b) use the NSFW tag; (c) no spam; (d) don't attack people; and (e) don't abuse the report button.

I give it an 80% chance that Ricardo the server will not see a single cent of that GoFundMe supposedly set up in his name lol
I don't know why American do it each time there is something like this. I may understand doing for huge medical bills but here it is just some one who didn't get a tip. It is sad but I don't think there is a need for a GoFundMe.
Tips in food service are often their own pyramid scheme. The server who is expecting a tip will owe money to cleaning staff (bussing the tables), or other back-end staff. So getting no tip often means they are paying their own money to that staff. It's an awful, ridiculous system completely in line with capitalism.
Utterly false. Some places give a percentage of tips to the back-of-the-house. LOL, the state labor board would burn your restaurant down if you tried making staff pay other staff out of pocket.
