I'm looking for an alternative to Google Photos (With good search functionality) (lemm.ee)

I've switched my email etc. to https://infomaniak.com/

I'm planning on move all my media out of google photos but I really like the ability to search by a persons face, or to search "Dog" and then it'll show me all my pictures with dogs in them.

I have 100k photos, so having search functionality like this is curtail.

I use a Synology NAS to store and backup new photos and videos.

Their Photos app is pretty good with basic search, but I use a paid Windows program called Excite Foto (German developer) to index and supercharge search with local AI. They've just added the ability to search for context of video, but their contextual search of photos blows Google out of the water.

You can also tag your photos, find duplicates or similar photos, sort and search by metadata, etc.

The caveat is that this software was not cheap.
