The Moomins is a franchise created by finnish author/illustrator Tove Jansson. It features a vast amount of comics, TV series, movies, books and games, telling various stories mostly set in moominvalley.

He definitely went to live in the cave to hide from aunt Jane.

He does something similar when she comes to visit in the 90s TV series.

They get newspapers in the cave?

Its delivered by the smol creature that always hangs around moomin. So its either its delivering it for specifically just for them, or there are a bunch of these lil guys that do all sorts of jobs.

This is a different one. The one that follows Moomin doesn't have ears that big.
