Where is the outrage? Where have all the "humans" gone? Israel slaughtered over 400 innocent civilians in Gaza last night. Most of them women and children.

None of those with #Ukraine, #Canada, #Mexico and #EU flags on their profile raising their voice condemning this outrageous crime.

The sheikh wandered around the city with a lamp

I'm tired of all the devils and the death, and seeking one human

They said it cannot be found, we have searched, As we said before

That which cannot be found I desire

he never appeared on any ballots

THEN WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME VOTING FOR HIM!? that is what I was saying! nobody gave me the option! you can't even be bothered to remember who you ran, so it feels like this is just an excuse to be angry, as if being angry at people and badgering them will make them agree with you. it won't. I didn't read the rest. I did kind of skim it, and didn't see anything I haven't read a hundred times before. im really sick of it, dude. everyone is.

and there's kind of actually important stuff going on. fascism, genocides, the restructuring of geopolitical balances, pandemics, food shortages, fascism, genocides. it's, like, a thing. and here you're complaining about people having some bare minimum moral line they would not dip below. kind of makes you look like an asshole who doesn't care about any of that stuff, and only really cares about your team keeping power.

You're the one who kept repeating "I literally could not vote for genocide joe." The comment I replied to was just that in all caps, which you have since edited to completely change. You are the one who keeps bringing up Biden. You say nobody gave you an option? Harris was right there on the ballot, not the guy you said you literally could not vote for.

I also don't understand why you choose to repeatedly misconstrue my political leanings, referring to "who you ran" or "your team". I didn't run Harris. The Democrats aren't my team. They were just the lead bad of two options.

And why is voting for the least bad of two terrible choices "some bare minimum moral line"? Your vote isn't some precious flower you can only give away to your one true love or some bullshit. It's a fucking vote. All it means is "I think this person is the least bad option available." You don't have to structure your entire ideological belief structure around who you vote for. You vote for whichever candidate you think you can work to push in the right direction, then get back to life.

For me, personally, voting is an EXTREMELY minor part of my engagement with politics. I also participate in protests regularly. Ever since my early 20s (late 30s now) I’ve made a point of attending at least 1 protest every month. For the past 8 years, it’s been closer to weekly than monthly. I donate a lot of money to different groups, mostly a local abortion fund and bail fund for activists, but I change it up when the need is there. I make food for a local Food not Bombs and help serve when I can (although that’s infrequently due to my work schedule and the fact I have kids).

This is not an exhaustive list of my political activities, but it helps paint the picture.

Tell me, if your vote is so direly precious that you’re unwilling to give it away to the lesser of two evils in a binary choice where “none” is not an option, how do you engage with politics? What do you do to help improve the lives of the people in your community? Or is pretending like you have moral superiority over others by not participating in politics the extent of it?

I was commenting after one of you people said 'genocide joe' in the context of voting for him. seeing how long it took to catch on about the fact that the thing you guys were saying to do wasn't on my ballot. I didn't read the rest of your thing. sorry.

[–] vvilld@lemmy.world 0 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

So you're just trolling? Grow the fuck up.

[–] melpomenesclevage@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

no, see, the joke is you and your position being fundamentally unserious even on your own terms. I don't know how to fix it, but im pretty sure, at least on the palestine thing, voting doesn't matter. treaties don't matter. protests probably don't matter.

[–] vvilld@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

You don't even know my position because, by your own admission, you refuse to read my comments.

[–] melpomenesclevage@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

that's not true; I definitely read at least the first line or so. and I can still tell.

[–] vvilld@lemmy.world 0 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Like I said, by your own admission you aren't reading the comments, so you can't possibly know my position. Reading the first line isn't enough. That's why I wrote more.

[–] melpomenesclevage@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I'm less certain than I would be, but there's some serious pattern matching going on here. I'm pretty confident.

more information doesn't always add coherence.

[–] vvilld@lemmy.world 1 points 48 minutes ago (1 children)

Or, instead of pretending like you know something you have no clue about, you could spend the 15 seconds it takes to read. It's really not that difficult or time consuming. And if reading is that much a problem for you, then maybe you shouldn't be pretending like you have an informed opinion on anything.

[–] melpomenesclevage@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 45 minutes ago (1 children)

if what? sorry, your message cut off.

I love reading. I just find reading this same shit where you blame everyone else for your institution's atrocious failures to be kind of disgusting and vile and every time I read that shit, I hate you more. I think if I were a foreign agent trying to make randos on the internet hate the vichy party, I would do literally nothing differently.

[–] vvilld@lemmy.world 1 points 33 minutes ago

And this is why reading the whole comment is important, because the Democratic Party isn't my institution, which is made very clear in my comments. And I also made it very clear that voting is an extremely minor part of my participation in politics, almost none of which involves the Democratic Party (or any party).

I'm gonna assume based on your inability to read more than 7 words at a time that you don't engage in politics at all beyond shitposting. So fuck right off pretending like you have moral superiority when you do literally NOTHING to better the lives of people around you.
