Come on'n get your jamaharon on! There are no real rules—just don't break the weather control network.
It’s true that as time went by the Engineering folks had to accomplish greater and greater feats to keep the excitement going.
It reminds me of Big Hero 6, which I just watched with my kids. In that movie you meet some cool young people who all attend an engineering university. I thought “hey that’s great I hope my kids come away with a positive view of engineering as an education path.” Because no one ever modeled that for me.
BUT as soon as you’re inside the college, you see that all the kids are working on ridiculous fantasy gadgets far beyond the realm of science. Super suits and robots and flying bikes and shit. I thought great, now you’ve jacked up the kids expectations that on day 1 of engineering school they will walk in an build themselves an iron man suit.
It’s cool to depict engineers as heroes but I wish it were a little more grounded in reality or the reality is going to be damn disappointing.
choosing a marvel movie to use as a way to ground people is possibly not the best idea.
Also, once they're old enough to go to engineering school, if they still think they'll be able to build a one for one Ironman suit, then they've got bigger worries.
Go in wanting to make Ironman suit leave looking like mechanicus?
