I was always amazed by how utterly stupid an organism can be. And that thing survives somehow in nature.

There is some, as @lnxtx@feddit.nl pointed out, but they are very different to the domesticated guinea pig.

Wikipedia suggests montane guinea pig as a wild ancestor.
