Update: In a statement sent to PC Gamer on Monday, Wizards of the Coast said that the DMCA takedown notice was issued in error: "The Baldur's Village DMCA takedown was issued mistakenly—we are sorry about that. We are in the process of fixing that now so fans and the Stardew community can continue to enjoy this great mod!"

The following update was posted to the linked article about 30 min ago. Probably in response to the backlash, maybe out of the kindness of their hearts? Eitherway, sounds like they are walking back the decision.

I can believe that the legal team just went and copyright claimed it without consulting anyone (they just did their job after all)

I believe it’s a similar thing that happened with the 3D printing Benchy
