Nude hiking. I mean I wouldn't care if someone I knew saw me, but I wouldn't be talking about it in most conversations.

I don't understand. When I hike I'm wearing more than I normally do.

Do you have more info? Where do you nude hike? Isn't that illegal or something?

Not in Germany. It is not technically ilegal to go around naked. It is only ilegal to bother other people, but if you are naked and doing normal things like hiking or riding your bike, then the police can't tell you anything. I have known 1 or cases where one person was fined, but they apealed (is that how you write to appeal?) It and the charges were drop

Edit: Of course if you do sexual things, then you can get arrested, fined and imprisonment for some years.

Wow, I envy you so much! I'm Italian and it's not totally clear here if you can hike naked, but it's surely on the "not really legal" side.

Any tips for someone who's never done it and would like to try it?

Honestly I have never had any problem with nudism, so im not sure what tips i can give. Maybe if you feel uncomfortable by being naked, try it firsr where is more normalized, like saunas or nude beaches.
