I bought a 45RU rack and a Dell 730xd server.

Next purchase is a MD3460 storage array.

I have no prior IT experience.

Gotta start somewhere, though possibly I should have tried baby steps first.

Proxmox to run a VM hosting Nextcloud for work, and another VM hosting Plex for friends and family.

Currently both bare metal machines and both out of space, and old enough to need replacing anyway.

I'm at about 35TB so far... 25 on Plex, and 10 on Nextcloud.

Somewhere near 100 will give some good headroom to grow in to.

Side note: where Brisbot at? We're missing a day
