Seven stills from the movie Spaceballs, showing Dark Helmet in his room. The first still shows only the back of his helmet with the text: So, mods, at last I have you in my clutches, to have my way with you, posting whatever I want. The second still shows his hands and desk. In his left hand is a Dark Helmet action figure, and in his right hand is a Princess Vespa action figure. Further back on the table are action figures of Dot Matrix, Lone Starr, and Barfolemew. Over this image is the text: in mod voice No, no, please this is Star Wars adjacent at best. In the third still the camera angle has shifted to show Dark Helmet's face, Lone Starr's action figure is now in his left hand, with Dark Helmet in his right and Princess Vespa's is standing next to his hand on the table, only the top of Princess Vespa's action figure's head is visible. The accompanying text reads: You can't resist how meta this is. In the fourth still the camera angle has shifted again so that the height of the camera is in line with the desk Dark Helmet sits at. He is no longer holding any action figures, but those of Princess Vespa and himself are set facing each other on the desk and Lone Starr's action figure is laying down on the desk, barely visible under the text reading: in mod voice This is the last straw, your [sic] getting the bansaber. In the fifth still the camera has continued its pan around the desk, showing Dark Helmet from the right. He is once again holding his own and Princess Vespa's action figures. The accompanying text reads: Just think of all the upvotes this post will get. The sixth still shows a close-up of Dark Helmet's hands where he holds the Dark Helmet and Princess Vespa action figures together as if making them kiss. The accompanying text reads: in mod voice Oh. So many upvotes. Mmmhmmmhmm. In the final still the camera has zoomed out again, showing Dark Helmet's shocked face as he clutches the action figures to his chest, as Colonel Sandurz barges through the closed door behind the chair. The text under Colonel Sandurz reads: Honey are you making memes again? The text under Dark Helmet reads: No! Shut the door!

An emotionally charged painting of a post-Vader Anakin Skywalker. The top half of his helmet is removed to reveal his scarred and aged face as he openly weeps a stream of tears over the fact someone transcribed a stupid meme. Beautiful and heartfelt art.

Please do not post the "good friend" or similar copypasta

Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.
