Big deal. There's no election in near future (or any future?) for this to matter and the % "dip" would have to be multiple times as large. Too little and way, way too late.

Its not nothing.

I know its a long shot to hope Republicans gain some sort of semblance of sanity, but if their Republican voting constituency keeps pushing, there's just a tad bit more than a snowballs chance in hell that some Republicans will cross the aisle. If they don't...well, they will probably lose their seat to another Republican that at least pretends they are going to listen to their voting constituency.

Again, it is a long shot but its not nothing. And while Republicans are just one big cult, it is important to remember that smaller seats may not be as long-step in motion with the rest of the party, and where we can see ground shift.
