Funny how it's "inspirational" when the victim’s a man - but we’d all agree it’s a tragedy if the roles were reversed.

Honestly people act shocked that the younger generation of males in the world are conservative but this is what they see on a daily basis.

I'm all for feminism and equality but if you have to put someone down to lift yourself up that's not helpful for anyone.

[–] MBM 58 points 1 month ago (17 children)

I'd put a lot more blame on the grifters purposely aiming to radicalise boys

[–] Charlxmagne@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Radicalisation on one side always leads to radicalisation on the other, ending up with both sides using the other's ridiculous fringe ideas as justification for their own.

And it all starts from people reading the endless, pointless, contention-filled threads like this, where two sides are arguing bitterly about nonsense, not giving in an inch, and not resolving anything.

What do you mindless drones out there think this is doing to your brain? Has anyone of any gender been helped by reading any of these stupid arguments about sharks and bears?

The answer is no. The younger generation who was raised by these terrible posts and terrible, wastes-of-time arguments and persecution olympics is desperately, chronically ALONE.

So yah, lets all just keep stirring this soup of loneliness as we all train ourselves to stop socializing like humans and view everything through the lense of internet arguments. I'm sure it will start to show positive impact annnnny day now.

[–] MITM0@lemmy.world -3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

There was no radicalization on the other side.

[–] neons@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago

There definitely was.

Cyberbullying german girls because the german word "digga" sounds similar to "nigger" and unironically advocating that germans shouldn't use words that sound similar to slurs in english because "they should be responsible and avoid hurting others".

Or tankies simping for the mass murder of "anti-revolutionaries" in the USSR or the PRC

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This kind of content is what pushes them to those grifters though.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago

What pushes people to grifters is reading endless, pointless internet arguments where neither side is compromising.

This is how we all learned to socialize, in bullshit threads like this, and this is why all you young people are so fucking lonely.

[–] MITM0@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Let's not lie & pretend as if the "radicalization" (as you decided to call it) was created in a vaccuum

Yeah, several pieces of media that brought women prominently to a franchise that was lacking and my thought was that it seemed like a good direction.

Then half the time they go off on how a man would be too dumb, too selfish, or too violent to ever come up with such a good idea as the women. Often making the established male characters uncharacteristically dumber than usual to give the women time to shine.

Have the women, have then be strong, smart, independent. Don't take frequent opportunities to take potshots at men in general. I know media has been doing this to women for decades, and it may be gratifying to turn things around for a change, but it's just not great.

[–] DogWater@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Exactly. It's literally no surprise if you see how the woke left talks about men. Like what do we expect young impressionable boys to do? Lean into that and bear it or listen to the grifter asshats that tell them thats crazy and they are fine? I'm not saying it's correct because it's not, but that's why this happened.

There's a legitimate conversation to be had because of course patriarchical systems oppress men, but you can't expect anyone to listen to that when everyone's first brush with the people who want to change it is shit like this.

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca -2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Like what do we expect young impressionable boys to do?

Not bump into women repeatedly? What behaviour are you trying to defend here that is being attacked?

[–] DogWater@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Killing people because of their sex? You dip shit

So many young men are turning into conservatism not because of femenism but because of the patriarchy. They keep being told men have to do this and that to be real men (men don't cry, men are the bread winners, househusbands are bad, men don't talk about feelings etc) And you know what? They feel like there is no one to stand up for them and they start seeing the movement that is fighting against all these things in the name of women as their enemy and lash out against it and fall into the words of grifters.

Of course there are a bunch of femcels, terfs etc. that call themselves femenist that bastardize the movement by trying to put women over men or even all genders. Instead of taking the hand of these men and help them fight these old norms and start normalizing the extistence of househusbands and housewives. Make it ok for men to show feelings and fighting for actual equality.

So if you are a secure man and actually care for the future you should not be fighting but be supporting femenism.

I'm so sorry you're getting downvoted. The fact that your comment currently has more downvotes than upvotes -- for making accurate statements and supporting feminism -- reflects why women don't stick around on Lemmy. I think it's time for me to leave too; I don't want to be part of a community where this many men are anti-feminist. These guys should really take a class on feminism, sex, and gender studies.

[–] Kennystillalive@feddit.org 2 points 1 month ago

To be honest I was kinda surprised it was getting down voted so much. I had the impression lemmy would be a more inclussive for women & other genders as it is mostly leftist leaning...

Anyways I hope you find a place on the web where you can find like minded people.
