Overview:
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

They apparently had to develop 1,500 volt power chips to operate the power system at 1,000 volts to achieve this.
I'm sure it is also terrible for battery longevity, as all fast charging systems inevitably cause more damage during the charge cycle.
The article doesn't really go into that though. Just that BYD claims it's fine. No actual numbers.
They charge harder but stop earlier, the battery is probably at the same temperature at 60% as the previous tech is at 80% so they could be doing the same amount of damage.
Science is not black magic. One breakthrough at a time.
