Benadryl! Because you can't have allergies if you're unconscious.
At my first IT job, we had to attend a week or two of training before actually doing the job. I was eighteen at the time and didn't know nothin' about nothin' ... Including that benadryl makes you sleepy.
Sometime in the first few days of training, I was having some pretty bad allergies and a roommate suggested benadryl. I picked some up on the drive to work and took the recommended dose immediately, then headed into the training, which was nothing but lecturing for a full eight hours on the second floor of a building with a broken AC. Also in the small room were about 20-25 people and a 2005-era projector in the middle of the room.
I doubt I learned anything other than the side effects of benadryl that day. I'm fortunate that I did manage to stay conscious and that the drowsiness had probably worn off before my ninety minute drive home.
Haven't taken any since.
What is the recommended dose
25mg, aka one pill. Every 6 hours
I don't know - I haven't had any in almost twenty years. I just took what it said on the box at the time.
