If you want a more recent example, in 2024 they had nobody to run against Biden who would also be 100% under their control so they decided to not even have a primary last year and try to run him again.
The DNC has a long history of controlling their primaries such that their preferred canidate will get the most votes. The thing that made 2016 significant is they almost fucked up. The last primary they allowed non-Neoliberals to run they almost lost control of the party to progressives.
Not what i said at all. Hillary failed so the DNC cast her aside as a failed canidate that they had wasted too much time to groom.
I think the same group of people have been leadership or controlled the leadership of the DNC for decades, and they are rejecting progressivism to defend against new people ursurping them.
