In the market for a new phone and I want to try out GrapheneOS. I know I need a Pixel phone (rather ironic i need to get a google device to degoogle), but I already made the mistake of buying a carrier locked pixel previously. If I do buy a phone third party (through google or some other place) and then install GOS on it, would I be able to transfer my services over to the new phone running GOS? Would there be any issues with my carrier?

Yes. Never buy the phone from your carrier; always buy an unlocked device online and transfer the SIM card over. You don't even need to tell them that you bought a new phone. 90% of the time it just works (10% of the time you'll need to get a newer SIM to be able to connect to more frequencies if yours is too old. But even then you'll still be able to use your phone).
