Wordpress-activitypub is a WordPress plugin that enables ActivityPub protocol support, allowing WordPress sites to interact with decentralized social networks. This release updates compatibility and improves interactivity features.

Key changes in version 6.0.0:

  • Add in_reply_to Actor to Activity audience
  • Validate $type integrity for published posts
  • Add fallback-avatar to reaction dropdown list
  • Update WordPress requirement to 6.5
  • Remove deprecated functions, filters, and actions
  • Make "Follow Me" interactive
  • Improve wp-config handling for Surge
  • Remove JavaScript wave effect
  • Use Interactivity API for Reactions and Remote Reply

  • Fix Site-Health WebFinger check
  • Strip shortcodes from excerpts
  • Fix editor console warnings and add back compatibility with WP 6.5
  • Improve plugin's Followers storage and use Interactivity API for Followers
  • Limit user options to users with ActivityPub capability
  • Change to use post_content to store Actor-JSON
  • Avoid showing likes and reposts for comments
  • Add h-card support for IndieWeb movement
