The first 6-12 months here (during/right after the Reddit API drama) were great. After that....not so much.

Note: Edited to add to the title and replace the image link with one that won't be going offline in 2 weeks.

Instances are groups of like minded communities. To extend the earlier metaphor it'd be like going to a town that doesn't allow cars and you decide to ride your motorcycle down the sidewalks blasting all the houses with noize they don't want to hear.
