Be cool to each other. We'll welcome most occult themes, it's okay if you stray from witchcraft a bit.

No advertising. No trolling. No hate. Violaters will be removed unceremoniously.

We love art credits when possible.

Do those clasps even do anything? Or are those shoes held on by black magic?

This is a modern cosplay item. But dressy shoes from the 1690s would have had a wide strap or "latchet" from each side, that crossed over and were held by/threaded through a separate fancy buckle. You could use the same buckle with different pairs of shoes. I've been exploring The Met Costume Collection, here's a pair of women's shoes with latchets: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/156200

I think working shoes would have simpler ties.

I was watching Wednesday and was wondering what was up with pilgrim hats. Turns out it was a 19th century Victorian invention that has stuck around to today.
