actually, S. Oregon is also pretty militant. they were on the news a few years back. caught a lot of shit for using an actual guerilla tactic that made all the suburbanites go
For me that's the best part, the whole rest of the country thinks it's the weak link because SO/NorCal knows how to keep their mouth shut instead of waving their guns in the fucking drive thru.
Oregon used to run a fucking backwoods castration farm where trans people would go to get castrated for $500 and all of the cops fucking knew about it and they just looked the other fucking way.
Like, the fact that these idiots would look at South Oregon and be like, "Oh yeah, no, just roll the fuck in, it's not gonna be a problem," just goes to show how good Oregon has been at hiding how fucking vicious they would actually be.

In the coastal counties is a very weird breed of folks that consider them selves progressive hippies that may well have been born and raised on a peace and love commune, but if you question very far you will find a shit ton of racism, homophobia and transphobia. And they have shotguns.
They aren’t, as a rule, violent about their shitty beliefs, but if you show up on their property (half a mile down a private road) they will absolutely greet you with a warning shot.

Yep, coastal side, where most of the population is, you got extremely leftist, uh, highly armed, and willing to fight people of all sorts of different varieties. And then, on the other side of the mountain, you've got highly right, highly trusted, highly armed, motherfuckers of all different types.
If it came down to it, I honestly believe the Liberals could defeat the Republicans if you isolated each state and made them duke it out, but I wouldn't imagine that it would be a clean sweep. I think that in California it would be a decisive victory and in Washington and Oregon it would be more to the skin of the teeth.

Portland area, Bend and Eugene are blue, the rest of the state is red as hell. Its pretty safe west of the cascades but that high desert is full of nut jobs.

also like 90% of the terrain is straight up mountain face and dense forest with like maybe 3 highways crossing the mountain range total. Access control is super easy.
