I also have been confused since he left with the cousins, but she couldn't get in touch with anyone. Then it says the cousins said he smoked weed and freaked out, but how long was it before they talked to the cousins? It doesn't say if it was immediately or days later. They seemed to know where he jumped out, so I also wonder how far that pond was from where he got out. Obviously, the only people that it could have been were the cousins. Both scenarios are weird.
