Broke T&Cs got banned, Rowling is irrelevant in this context. You think the T&Cs breach should be ignored because it’s Rowling?
2 day old account. First and only engagement is to defend a transphobe...
Thanks Ada <3
Wishing someone bad fortune is not wishing harm.
They are absolutely equivalent and it’s ridiculous to argue otherwise.
I wish that her socks always feel damp.
I wish that her sleeves always get wet when she's washing her hands.
I wish that she always loses when gambling on a fart.
Not trying to defend her at all, but I seriously doubt those are actual examples of the things being said and even if, all of this would cause a regular person psychological distress (or "harm", even if not physical).
I don't know how Bulesky's TOS are worded exactly, but it feels a bit like that whole "Guns don't kill people, I kill people. With guns." motif.
Personally, I think wishing harm on people that cause harm is completely OK. As for my wishes, those are inconveniences at most.
Maybe, I can't really comment on what she did or "deserves" for it. I just know she made some transphobic remarks in the past, which is messed up. But there's still a difference between someone with a twisted world view and Trump/Putin who actually incarcerate and sponsor torture of people.
However, the discussion was on whether something is "harmful" or not and you may actually argue that her BS doesn't physically "harm" anyone either, if you try to make that point.
Rowling spends her considerable fortune to actively influence policy to hurt trans people.
No they're not? Wanting the next Harry Potter thing to flop and her lose a bunch of money is wishing misfortune, but it's hardly wishing harm.
Well it’s one thing to specify you’re wishing harm to her finances. But saying you wish someone ill without specifying absolutely implies wishing them harm.
IDK, I've never taken it to mean wanting harm.
Nah it kinda just sounds like they don't like her
I miss the part where that's my problem
Doublespeak
What? Wanting misfortune to befall someone is literally what wishing someone ill means?
My mistake, the misfortune you are wishing is harmless misfortune, I see now
