one could claim it was a sign of Apollo's rejection. but then again isn't that image metal as fuck? was his face even damaged or was he simply anointed with the blood of the sacred animal?

The bits of the camera that the bird hit, cut the bridge of Fabio's nose. Probably most of the blood we see in the shots is indeed Fabio's.
