So I've always had pretty bad handwriting for a number of reasons. But a few years back I started using fountain pens and I write so much better whenever I use them. It's not expert calligraphy or anything, no, but it's gone from legitimate cipher only I can understand to pretty readable. Idk why though, maybe I just don't have to press down as hard on them?

I can’t say I’ve used a fountain pen, but I write better with rollerball pens. Those also dump ink everywhere.
