Basic Rules:

Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.

Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.

Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.

Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post, rather than engaging in argument.

Brigading — If you're here because this community was linked in another thread, please refrain from voting, commenting or manipulating the post in any way. All votes are public, and if you are found to be brigading, you will be permanently banned.

You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. “China is being shitty and authoritarian towards the Uyghurs, but it’s nothing like the genocide Israel is waging”, saying that Chinese influence in Myanmar is a more serious violation by the PRC than the Uyghur genocide is, and leveling a judgement of “PTB” - “Power Tripping Bastard” - towards the moderator of this comm for banning someone who was literally denying the Uyghur genocide.

Combined, that’s pretty distinctly defending Uyghur genocide denial, and I would say right up on the border of denying Uyghur genocide themselves.

If I said, “Israel is being shitty and authoritarian towards the Palestinians, but it’s nothing like the genocide the Nazis waged”, would you regard that as:

A. Borderline genocide denial of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people by reducing the ongoing genocide to something that is simply ‘shitty and authoritarian’ while noting that ‘real’ genocide is more than that

OR

B. Just making casual comparisons

Furthermore, in a later comment, they go on to say that the Uyghur "genocide" (and they put genocide in quotes) is overblown and misrepresented by the West, and further opine that critical support for the PRC doesn't make one a tankie.

What's more, one of the active comments in the thread calls the Uyghur genocide an 'Atlanticist hoax' and remains up (an .ml comment whose votes cannot be checked, but sadly I would not be surprised if one or all three admins upvoted it), as does a denial of the Holodomor, despite three DB0 admins being active in that thread since, including both mods of the comm.
