Yeah I know it's a wide range of art, and there is likely stuff I would like. It just hasn't tickled my brain yet.
Meanwhile, I did love Arcane, but I also know calling that anime is likely to start a religious war ;-)
'Chainsaw man' is really good for 'a boy and his dog whos actually not a dog but kind of the anthropic personification of how people think about chainsaws but also still kind of a dog, the faustian pact they make, and the secret shadowy government organization that uses him as a child soldier'
'Death note' 'psycho pass' or 'ghost in the shell: stand alone complex' if you want very anime but still need to be watching a cop show.

They're not entirely copaganda; two are cyberpunk, one is... The protagonist of 'death note' very much has 100% cop brain, but it's kind of a breaking-bad-esque exploration of 'how this guy could possibly be that much of a piece of shit?’ but i remember it being fun.
