"Yiddish,[a] historically Judeo-German or Jewish German,[13][b] is a West Germanic language historically spoken by Ashkenazi Jews. It originated in 9th-century[14]: 2 Central Europe, and provided the nascent Ashkenazi community with a vernacular based on High German fused with many elements taken from Hebrew (notably Mishnaic) and to some extent Aramaic. Most varieties of Yiddish include elements of Slavic languages and the vocabulary contains traces of Romance languages.[15][16][17] Yiddish has traditionally been written using the Hebrew alphabet."
Hebrew is a recreated language anyway. Its the only successful recreation/revival of a dead language ever recorded. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revival_of_the_Hebrew_language https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language_revitalization
