I just remember you could hit ctl or alt and it would jiggle the screen. If you did it too much, it would void the game due to tilt.
It basically simulated the real world pinball machines that you could smack or jostle a little too when the ball got stuck or was about to roll straight down the middle. They would lock up when the players did that too obviously, both to keep the machine from damage and, since those were generally arcade machines, so the players would buy another round.
Fun fact: A lot of those anti-tilt sensors was just a pendulum hanging through a conductive ring. Tilt or otherwise get it to sway too much? It'd swing and bap the edge, completing the circuit which indicated tilt to the system. Simple and effective.
I remember we put the front feet of the pinball machine on our metal cap boots (the thing isn't light!) and the game didn't care (after calming down). It didn't really help though, the ball was just like slower, but it was fun.
Slower can still be a good help on some tables!
I, too, watch Technology Connections.
Nah, I actually got that info from rummaging around an old pinball table my uncle had.
Technology Connections is good shit, though.
That's awesome!
Simulating tilting the table.
