“Processed” could also mean butchering. A steak could legally be considered processed meat. They need to be clearer about the definition.

i kind of agree, but steak is a stupid first step in asking for the definition of 'processed'.

also considering the 'push towards plant based proteins' is in the headline, i don't think steak is being used

The FSIS does not include butchered in the definition of processed.
