Trump’s goal was always to smash small businesses and prop up large corporations. Just because someone has the same racism and xenophobia as you, does not mean they are your ally. Maybe someday these idiots will stop letting themselves be manipulated by culture war issues, and realize the economic and legal policy is what’s important. It’s harder to understand, but it’s what actually affects your life.
The problem is that the economic and legal policy is dogshit on both sides of the aisle. Less dogshit on one side, but it's not like the Democrats were ever trying to solve people's problems in the last 50 years.
ROFL, this is 100% Trump and Republican owned. Dems don't currently hold a single branch
But when they did hold power, they spent that time giving handouts to their rich friends, and screwing over the working class.
Yes, this instance is totally Trump's fault, but they aren't wrong in saying that the Democrats have been pretty openly not trying to solve people's problems.
Which specific bill are you talking about that served their rich friends, and screwed over the working class? Because this is fucking news to me.
This isn't a specific bill, but the US government has been an oligarchy for quite some time now. This is why leftists keep complaining about corporate campaign contributions and FPTP while most elected Democrats are mysteriously fine with them.
FWIW, I meant that as two separate things, although there is some crossover.

And that's just stuff off the top of my head. I'm not mentioning the wars, the cushy government contracts, etc.
Link 1 explicitly lays out why it's not a handout to the rich.
Link 2 is about legislation in 2008. Who do you think was president in 2008? Because it was Bush. The same guy who caused the 2008 recession.
Link 3 is about how Congress undid covid relief when Republicans took back control in 2023.
Link 4 seems to basically just be an ad with no substance, mostly talking about how Bush fucked shit up and Obama didn't do enough to unfuck Bush's fuck ups?
Oh, well, just because they said it isn't a bailout must mean that it isn't a bailout. There's no way politicians would lie.
For links 2-4, I posted the wrong ones. I've added corrections, my apologies
Your defense of the first link is a lazy copout. Don't cite a source and then say "don't believe my source" lmao.
The bailout money has been paid back, plus interest. It is largely considered a plan that worked. Your complaints are a great example of letting perfect be the enemy of good.
Your politico link points out what I said; Biden wanted to do x for the people; Republicans in Congress stopped him.
Your Atlantic link is paywalled. But I think I've read enough to justify disregarding anything else you have to say since it doesn't seem like you're reading your own shit, thereby not respecting my time in any meaningful way.
Democrats are absolutely worth criticizing, and it's not just our right, but our duty to do so. But let's not pretend that they are the party of fucking over the working class to help their rich friends. That is squarely on the Republican party. All they have done in my lifetime is block help for the working class, roll back help for the working class (which were passed by Democrats), and pass tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy. Oh yeah, and dissolve our rights and speedrun into fascism. How could I forget that one. So if you want to talk about a party fucking the people over, let's talk about them.
I didn't say that. I gave you a source of them giving handouts to their rich friends.
That doesn't detract from what I said at all. I said they got handouts, which they did.
Republicans AND Democrats. And he could have fast-tracked money to keep them going, just like he did for the war-machine . He chose to sit back, and let them lapse.
Says the person wasting my time. If you aren't going to read what I wrote, why ask questions?
I talk about the Republicans doing that all the time. But Democrats are indeed fucking over the working class to help their rich friends, as evidenced above. Of course, if you don't read things that you find inconvenient, it's probably difficult for you to understand that.
Dude, no. Just no. You don't seem to know what words mean, and you're getting frustrated by that.
Biden didn't "give handouts to his rich friends" when he bailed out a collapsing bank to save the financial security of the everyday people who banked there. He prevented a cascade of bank runs. You would understand that if the read the article. But you're free to disagree with the actions he took; what would you have done differently?
It's not a "handout" if it's a loan that gets paid back plus significant interest. A "bailout" yeah, sure, but that's not the same thing. That was my point there. And again, what would you have done differently? Let the economy collapse to spite those who made it happen?
You say he could've fast-tracked money, but when he tried he was stopped by the courts. I know you want it to have been possible, but he wasn't willing to be a dictator. He (perhaps naively) believed in preserving the separation of powers.
As for wasting time, I'm not the one who linked 7 goddamn articles and then didn't bother to understand them before pretending that they supported my argument.
It's like there's a kid dying in the OR and you're focused on a worrisome mole while I'm saying "hey fuckface, let's worry about that melanoma after we deal with the gunshot wound." Yeah, there are corrupt Democrats and they cling to power, and yeah we should do something about that, but demonizing the entire party over a couple of less than perfect incidents is a mind-blowing way to take up space during a fascist takeover by the other party, led by a rapist conman who is in the news every day for egregiously fucking over everyday people to help his rich buddies. He's turning the white house into a gilded palace. He's ordering all Latinx to get raided by ICE. He fucked over the farmers AGAIN to enrich his VP. He's accepted a luxury private jet from Qatar. He very obviously raped children with his bff for years. Thanks to these dumb fucks, I now need to get a prescription to get a covid vaccine in my state, and I'm calling it now, there will be a shitload of measles and covid outbreaks in the next two years.
It is fucking silly to criticize how Obama and Biden handled those crises as fucking over the working class to help their rich buddies when the actual policies they worked for and the bills they signed did the opposite, and Republicans undid as much of it as they could. Capitalism fucking sucks, and it's doomed to result in massive wealth inequality, and I'd love to shift away from it, but that's just not happening without a lot of violence. The Democrats are compromising to ensure that everybody gets crumbs today and morsels tomorrow and small bites the next day, and it's damn sure not enough, but it beats intentionally starving everybody and punishing them for not fattening up enough ahead of their slaughter.
Wall Street handouts in the wake of the 2008 crisis.
Yes, I'm explaining why they don't hold a single branch.
People are fed up and looking for answers. Republicans give the wrong answers, while Democrats gaslight about how much progress is being made. When people don't buy the rather obvious gaslighting, they turn to the only answers being offered.
"wrong answers"
That's a funny way to spell complete and total fucking lies.
Yes. Democratic gaslighting is "complete and total fucking lies" too. I was differentiating. Republicans lies offer a narrative and enemies to fight. Democratic lies try to tell people watching the American dream die that it's all just "progress". Of the two, Republican lies are way more viral, in more than one way.
Name a time when the right wing Democratic party have had a clear shot at improving things. You know since they've had to clean up the absolute DISASTERS that every Republican lying cheating stealing thief of a "president" has forced upon us. Every single time that they seize power, they destroy the economy and our rights. Every single fucking time.
I don't look to them for salvation but holy fuck at least you can count on somewhat of a sense of stability when the actual (still shitty) human beings are in charge.
Having a chance to improve things is a Democratic nightmare scenario, and they do everything in their power to make sure they never get that opportunity. But how about today? Today they could endorse the Democratic nominee for mayor of NYC. That has a good chance of improving some things. Or how about Bill Clinton not choosing to dismantle the federal safety net, or Obama choosing to prosecute Wall Street criminals instead of reward them? How about not kneecapping Medicare For All at every opportunity? How about not trying to be Republican lite on immigration or trans rights? How about articulating any kind of vision to compete with Republican hate mongering in the public psyche?
It's not all about passing legislation. Passing legislation is what happens after you have done all the real work that the Democratic establishment refuses to do.
I'm not disagreeing with any of that. I'm simply stating that things are ALWAYS exponentially worse when the demon spawn fascists seize power.
I wasn't ever thinking about converting my USD to Renminbi when Biden was in office. Didn't expect the entire country and economy to collapse at any moment.
So yea, things aren't nearly perfect under democratic leadership. But significantly and undeniably better in every single metric.
Yeah, Republicans are worse. Got it. However that doesn't relate at all to your comment that I replied to, or to my reply. In fact, the comment I replied to has nothing to do with my previous comment either.
As bad as Republicans are, never doubt that it's Democrats who handed them power - over the culture and over the government. Even now, they have learned nothing.
Under Obama and Biden, they had the power to improve things. Instead they chose to give handouts to their rich friends, and screwed over the voters.
Oh, you mean like what the Democrats keep doing?
