It's insane that an activist needs to even take that position.

The same can be said for a lot of the views these days. In my youth with my white christian nationalist, church going family I was taught to be compassionate, treat others with goodwill, be polite, help others, donate, help out the community. That same family now says that's the thinking that is hurting our country. I don't understand how even empathy for others is now considered a bad thing. I mean, why is there an argument over "You know, I don't want people treating me like shit. I won't treat others like shit."? The Golden Rule is ignored now, lest you become "woke" or a "libtard".
