What a dumbfuck; doesn't realize everybody is against him.

[–] Nalivai@lemmy.world 37 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Just watch how 51% of voters will vote for him again, because the opposing party's candidate isn't a saint actually and might have some flaws.
Hahaha, who am I kidding, there will be no next free election, nobody will need to vote anymore.

yeah, after reading your comment, I realize I meant something slightly different than I wrote. So to clarify... a lot of people are on-board with the "policies" he's pursuing since the policy is always some variation of "crime with impunity" for people on his side. There are hordes of people who want to get in on that. Nevertheless, they don't like him, don't trust him, don't believe anything he says; and they wouldn't hesitate to stick a knife in his back if a better option emerged.

Not everybody, apparently a lot of americans are ok with all this.
I mean, if they weren't ok with it there'd be a visibly decent amount of push back about it all. Yet all they've done is post memes, and went out and had a walkabout with some signs a few months ago.

There are massive protests they just don't cover them on TV and YouTube.

The people saying that shit want us to just shoot everyone while they don't have to face any of the potential consequences and are safe.

“First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.”

That's because a lot of this hasn't really started to affect them yet. Sure he has his merry band of loyal supporters but there's also a lot of people who are just not really very politically aware and aren't paying attention.

Think about your grandparents or if you're old enough just your parents. They sit around watching fox news and seeing posts on Facebook and they assume that those are viable sources of trustworthy information. Which obviously they are not.

At some point in the next few years they will start to wonder why the shelves are always empty now, and why are the products they do have so expensive? Also why are so many businesses closing, I was told the economy was doing well.

Getting the media to lie for you only works for so long.

And fox/oan/whatever will convince them it's because of the illegal trans immigrants and they'll vote for whichever fascist shows up after Trump dies.

For Hitler, it worked until the Russians were literally on top of him and he was putting a bullet in his own head. And this was after years of his cities being bombed into rubble.
