I wasn't sure if they were clapping for him or the people that walked out. If it was for him, you'd think they were meeting a celebrity or somethin. Just another thing in the really weird behavior pile. Treating politicians like celebrities or singers just doesn't make sense.

I'm pretty sure they are applauding the ones walking out. The decision to sit is not necessarily a message of support to Netanyahu, but a product of national policy. The Norwegian foreign minister was among the people who sat, in spite of being outspoken pro Palestine.

It could be regular conference etiquette. Every conference I have been to with speakers have as applause as the speaker takes the stage.

But I choose to believe they are congratulating those with a spine who walk out while a he talks.
