I continue to wear masks when out to this day, and see no future point of stopping for now.

I have existing conditions that Covid would wreak havoc with, and long covid still isn’t well understood. Even the vaccine (Pfizer) totally fucked me up, to the point getting the booster was a no-go.

that sounds very sensible, but really tough for you that not even the vaccine helps. for me (and for now) it’s not worsened my symptoms so it’s given me quite a bit of peace of mind to get a booster every ~six months. I do wish my otherwise healthy family/friends would consider getting regular boosters though, in the hopes of lowering the chances of this ticking time bomb. each time someone tells me on the phone they’ve got a ‘chest infection’ or ‘nasty cold’ etc. it just fills me with dread that they’ll end up in our boat. 😵‍💫

It's not so bad. I'm pretty antisocial (or maybe asocial?) and the only person I associate with and spend time with IRL is my wife, and we're in the same boat. So it hasn't been hard to stay safe over the years.
