I kinda wish they left race out of this post. This has nothing to do with them being white people.

Well yes and no.

It felt a bit shoehorned in at the end. But I see their point.

Do you think black Trump gets elected? I'm gonna hit doubt on that one.

I'd argue the fact that they're white is central to why they are where they are today. They just happen to also be really really shitty people too.

We don't even really have to ask. Herman Cain ran and lost.

At least he'll be remembered for the award named after him

Yeah, true. It just didn’t feel like the post had anything to do with race, until that comment.

Might have been more impactful if it started with one of the million comments these people have made about DEI along with all the firings of fully qualified people

The post is about DEI. The first part is to get you to understand the facts without the context of DEI and the DEI comment at the end takes those facts and points them in the intended direction. It paints a quick and clear picture and gets the point across. It’s a social media post, not an essay, get over it.

The whole point is that it doesn’t give it up right away.

Fine, doesn’t make it the author’s fault or anyone’s problem but yours.

lol. I’ll talk to my therapist about it if that makes you feel better.

This has nothing to do with them being white people.

I wish that were true. But if RFK Jr had been from a poor black family, do you really think he'd be leading HHS? Do you think he'd be a free man, even? Or alive?

After all the shit he's done to himself - serial substance abuse, reckless engagement, multiple self-inflicted life threatening medical conditions, sexual assault of numerous young women - who honestly believes he wouldn't have gotten the Rodney King/Eric Garland treatment with any other surname or complexion?

Same with Trump. Ffs, Sean Combs is actually in jail right now. The parallels are undeniably. This is entirely about race.

Youre a racist, Harry...

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, they are definitely only there cause they’re white men.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago

Rich white men, sure

[–] prex@aussie.zone 10 points 4 days ago

I believe Anita Hill

I bet he wishes he could have left race out of it as well.

Sadly until the day racism is no longer an issue, it will have to be brought up by people who suffer from the racism (and also us who don't, we can't just be silent).

American political posts feel so weird because of this

[–] softwarist@programming.dev 1 points 4 days ago

Arguably it has everything to do with their whiteness; Trump is the country's first white president.
