Slavery was once a basic and common sense stance. Freeing the enslaved was illegal. Calling for abolition will only hurt the abolitionists.

Detaining and repatriating refugees is not common sense, it's cruel. Laws that allow for it are unjust and should be repealed.

The only thing that will hurt the left is if they start selectively applying solidarity to only people of their own race or nationality.
