Edit: our Lemmy seems super responsive since the migration. Thanks, @walden@sub.wetshaving.social, for pushing for self hosting! (and for doing the work, of course!)
I'm sure it helps that it's geographically closer to our users in Europe! We could move it even closer very easily. They have a "snapshot" function which allows transfer of the entire disk to another server.

@djundjila was equally to blame for the successful (so far) move. I learned a lot from him about shoring up the security of some stuff, which I plan on implementing with other services that I host for myself and have exposed to the web.
