If the original show did it, I'm sure they could have made an interesting movie around it. Sure the omnipotent part would near to be changed a little bit they did manage to have a satisfying conclusion in the episode.
And I'm sure the fanbase would have been just fine with that.

I know white people with Asian names. It's called interracial children. Give it two generations and last names can look like literally anyone.
