I never understood the difference between kbin and lemmy. They can federate, right? So what's the difference?

Different interface and more features in Kbin. I like it a little more than Lemmy, but they're both great.

Also, communities are called magazines instead.

Do you prefer to use apps for any reason? I don’t. Kbin is the only one with a decent web interface, and has more features. Also it allows you to see mastodon posts.

No, there’s a completely separate dev and backend. It’s very much its own thing.
