just weird they would not use their modern scifi universe series branding and instead use... ancient scifi universe from quarter century ago that was killed off by their most well known scifi universe series that they didnt want to work on any more
Just speculating, but maybe they want to keep their options open for selling one or the other off later. That way, they re-diversify with two series that are different enough to take risks, and get emergency cash if they fail.
There's abundant room in that universe for all kinds of crazy new stuff.
This just is not that.
