The games are decent indie horror, the VR version is the most immersive and scary for obvious reasons, and the fact that all the games have you sitting stationary in a security booth makes it well suited for VR. I have no idea why there are like 7 games, as far as I can tell the gameplay is nearly identical for each title? I've only played a couple, and not for long, so I could be missing something, but it's definitely not deserving of its massive popularity, it's just a good format for going viral with streamers and thus zoomers. The lore is bad-campfire-story tier and feels like a circus handkerchief pulled out of the creator's ass, so it doesn't surprise me that the movie sucked.
