• Run SteamVR once, then close it.
• The latest working ALVR nightly for me is https://github.com/alvr-org/ALVR-nightly/releases/tag/v21.0.0-dev00%2Bnightly.2023.07.11
• Download the .AppImage.
• Give executable permissions.
• Run.
• Download the latest .apk on your Quest 2(if you have an app installer) or, install to Quest 2 from your PC via ADB or, use SideQuest(built in ADB).
• Your in! Refer to ALVR documentation for further customization.

If you have trouble setting controller bindings within SteamVR you can point your browser to localhost:27062/dashboard/controllerbinding.html to set your controller settings.

Pop OS 22.04 (Ubuntu) Very playable on both a NVIDIA GTX 970 and GTX 3060.

Steam has been undergoing many changes lately, things may break in the future, try switching between beta and non beta if things dont work, this works for me as of July 13th 2023. I will keep this thread up to date as i use VR on Linux
