So he thought the grenades were glasses? Was he drunk?
Google 'grenade shaped glasses' for examples. People like silly things. It's conpletely reasonable to assume something in a birthday present is not an explosive.
Now the guy who put them there? Even if everyone knew 100% they were real grenades, who brings explosive devices to a party? There were children.
I don't understand how people can be so careless with devices of death. This story is a real and terrible consequence of that lax behavior.
