MODERATORS
Yes. There are, and it's fucking awesome because it's a space where we can say "the gender of the person who did all this great work has zero negative impact on the wonderful outcome!"
People can argue that trans actors can "feel out of place" or that trans athletes "ruin the spirit of competition." I don't agree with those perspectives, but I can see the (warped) logic behind them.
Here, there's nothing to possible complain about. Does the PCB function any differently because of who reverse engineered and recreated it? No. Should it impact one's experience gaming on this hardware? No, and if it does, said person has a problem disconnecting their personal beliefs from their objectivity.
you'll note that I didn't say anything special but got downvoted to -76 :)
What do you mean you didn't say anything special? You called attention to something obvious. People normally only do that when they want to complain, i.e. "it's monday" or "the bus is late" etc. If you want to call attention to something obvious but in a positive light, you have to say that explicitly, i.e. "it's cool that there's a lot of transgender people in the hacking community" or "nice, it's raining!". Neutral is negative by default, unfortunately.
I don't agree, especially cause we talk here about reverse engineering which is considered as relatively hardcore skill and in the positive way.
If I was saying: "There's lot of transgenders in blackhat hacking", there you might draw some negative conclusion.
Anyway, that was not my intention and sorry, it is not something 'obvious'.
You get to choose your intention. You don't get to choose how it's received. You were downvoted because people perceived you as negative, even if it's not what you intended. Unless you have a better explanation?
