Mainstream gamers do be like that. I want to say more but I would have to remove my own comment and ban myself.

sold more copies than ever before

Overall, boxed sales are down 25% compared to last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

They've never sold this many copies of MW3 before. It's an unprecedented amount.

[-] Primarily0617@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

didn't they sell more copies of MW3 when it released in 2011?

Boxes sales means physical copies

i'm not sure why you're telling me this like it explains the contradiction in your comment

Physical is being killed by digital sales. Physical dropped by 25%, so digital not only made up for that, but exceeded, previous years sales, and set another overall sale record.

The article makes zero mention of digital sales though so it doesn't support OP's claim about "selling more than any other COD."

then why did they link an article saying how high sales for boxed copies were if their point was that it had sold lots? either we need to pay attention to boxed copy sales, in which case they're down 25%, or we shouldn't pay attention to boxed copy sales in which case i'm confused why the source provided only talks about boxed copy sales
