i just read now a article about hardcoded scaling on linux, which is a maximum of 8 cores (or maybe even threads?) a few days ago also read that the cpu scheduler get's an overhaul so i hope they fix this issue, too. It's pretty sensible behavior. Things that are desirable on desktop-like multicore systems aren't always desirable on manycore systems.

The ability to thrash on 128 cores is probably not something anyone is missing.
