I've always been partial to "pop" though "pops" is an ageist slur

Contextual and regional, but pop is more common (where I'm from) for your own father, whereas pops is what you might call an older man if you wanted to call them old.

"alright pops" == "ok boomer"

Just curious. Would saying something like "youngin" be considered a slur as well then?

If it's used in the same way ya

Seems like anything could be a slur if used in an offensive context then, right?

Like, if I said "okay tomato", you could take it as offensive it in turns tomato into a slur.

I guess I'm just thinking while typing here, but if that's what a slur is, maybe we need a new term for contextless offensive words?

I mean sure new slurs are invented all the time, but it's really not that deep. Pops is just one of the more common ones. You see it in movies and stuff.

E: I'm not even saying it's wrong to say, just calling it what it is
