Watching foreign children cartoons is a pretty big red flag, yeah..
Oh man you won't believe this. But just because it's animated doesn't make it for kids. Did the trends of South Park / Aqua Teen Hunger Force / family guy / Futurama / Boondocks not convey that?
You're really limiting yourself with that belief. Black Lagoon, Ghost in the Shell, cowboy bebop, are older but great. Berserk is suuuper messed up and bloody. Attack on titan takes an adult level of patience to understand what's going on.
