Sounds like your "landlord" is a bit of a grief sponge for your real landlord. Definitely invited for the pizza party. Don't forget to print lot's of flyers for the rent strike, if you end up printing too many don't worry you can always stuff the extras in the heating vents on your way out.

Nah those maintenance dudes aren’t my landlord. Neither is the property manager. The landlord is the one that gets my money, and I will never refer to any complex staff as such. Literally lording over the land I live in and expecting payment. That being said, I agree with you.

This is the right answer. In most cases, the person managing the property is NOT the landlord. They are an employee of the actual landlord, usually a private equity firm. At most apartment complexes, the property manager doesn't even live in one of the units, they own a home far from the complex.
